What to know about Run For Your Lives

I did the "Run For Your Lives" race yesterday, it was by far the most exhausting mud run I have been on yet. For those of you who haven't heard of this incredible zombie infested 5k, here is what you're in for.

I should mention that I have done 2 Warrior Dashes, the Cleveland Half Marathon, and 1 Tough Mudder. I expected this to be a fun little jog with a few zombies, no big deal. 15 minutes into this race I was sprinting so fast that throwing up wasn't out of the question. Dodging zombies and making it out "alive" with 1 or more flags is no easy thing.

If you give this run a shot (and you should) definitely remember to wear shoes that grip your feet. The mud obstacles will suck your shoes right off, then the zombies will finish you while you attempt to find your shoes in a mud pit.
I would also recommend showing up about 2 hours early, the Run For Your Lives crew are doing an excellent job, but it seems like they might be struggling a bit with how popular the run is becoming so quickly, so parking and check in are slower than at the warrior dash or TM.

I did end up finishing "alive" with one flag, but it wasn't easy and I ended up with I believe may be a broken palm and some cuts and bruises on my knees. Totally worth it to survive, but now its a tad bit uncomfortable.
My time was 48ish minutes, I did the Warrior Dash in 39 so that should tell you how much some of these Zombie obstacles can hold you up.
